Inspire: Tutoring By Ruth Customized English/History Program

These programs all start with a 20-30 minute phone call in which I will find out more about your student and their needs. I will ask the following questions:

While I started my career teaching college students,  I have successfully taught students as young as 6 years old. 

Does your student love this subject and need enrichment or greater challenge? Are they a reluctant reader or weak in certain aspects of English? Are you interested in a full homeschool ELA or Social Studies program? This is your chance to tell me your goals. 

This is very tied to your goals. A full homeschool program may meet 3-5 times a week while an enrichment program is more likely to be once a week or every fortnight.

I summarize every session in an email to parents and frequently add in challenges to measure success and grow feelings of competency. 

I truly believe that student, parents and tutor are part of a team with one goal. I welcome opportunities beyond my session summaries to talk with parents about how the program is progressing and ways I can pivot the program to be more effective.
