SAT/ACT Test prep
I have been teaching SAT and ACT for 8 years and it is the largest segment of my practice. There is no single test prep program however - each program is as varied as my students are! However, ideally I start with a diagnostic test (SAT, ACT or both), formulate a personalized plan, communicate to parents, and retest every 4-5 weeks to measure progress towards our goal. In each session I identify a skill/question type to target and homework assesses success.
1:1 Programs
Generally meet online once per week in the 3 months before the first test. I tailor all materials to each student, assign appropriate homework, email with parents and retest as needed.
SAT/ACT Bootcamp
For up to 10 students. We meet in-person in a host home. Can be tailored to student needs but is roughly 15 hours (e.g. 3hrs per day for 5 days) and begins with an at-home diagnostic test. Classes are fun and interactive as well as informative. Host parent organizes student sign-up and co-ordinates payment. I bring all materials including goodie bags and presentation materials.
Real Results
While I can't guarantee an outcome, my students report being considerably more familiar with the test and confident in their test-taking ability. Many make substantial gains in their scores.
